Climbing and Mountaineering in Nepal

Nepal Himalayas has offered a holy shelter for saints and mediators. Nowadays, it’s a true land for climbing lovers. There are 1500 peaks above 5000 mtrs, and 1310 mountain peaks above 6000 mtrs including Mt Everest.

 Categorization of the peaks:
The peaks between 5587 mtrs to 6654 mtrs are called Trekking Peaks in Nepal. These peaks are comparatively easier to climb with basic climbing gears and support. Even beginners with little
Climbing history and with basic  mountaineering equipments like ice axe, climbing boots ,crampons, rope harness, etc attempt these trekking peaks. Still, the expeditions to Trekking Peaks are lead by well experienced climbing guided guides who are also certified by the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA). Climbers need to take climbing permit from NMA and the climbing needs to be organized through a government recognized trekking agency.
